You can easily check to make sure your employers have made the correct contributions to your Social Security account. At the same time, you can find out what your Social Security benefits will be when you retire. Simply go to www.SSA.gov and request a Form SSA – 7004, “Request for Social Security Statement.” Your Statement will list your own and your employers’ annual contributions, and if you find any errors, you can take this opportunity to correct them. Your Social Security Statement also explains your many rights and options under the Social Security system. Just go to www.SSA.gov, click on “Social Security Forms,” and then click “Online Forms.” The form you want is “Request for Social Security Statement.” If you have questions, you can call 1-800-772-1213.
