Sklover’s Thought for the Week

“Heroic people have heroic faults.”
- Theodore Sorenson
Don’t be surprised to learn that famous people – even historic people – have engaged in the most serious of vices. Whether it’s a rock star using drugs, or a president philandering, dramatic people live dramatic lives. Those who play with flames often get their fingers burned. Those who fight the biggest battles often have the biggest scars. Who knows? Maybe it’s the insecurities inside that lead to the insecurity outside. Perhaps it might just be wiser to say, “People with heroic faults tend to live heroic lives.”
