Those with disabilities – which are defined in the law as limitations on major life functions – are often chosen for layoff when times are difficult, or suffer other job-related decisions, based on the discomfort others may feel with them, or doubts others may have about them. This is illegal. If this has happened to you, to exercise your legal rights you need to begin the process by filing a Complaint with your employer or its HR Department.
