In recent years the U.S. federal government has run up huge deficits. To address growing problem, some people think the U.S. government should cut spending. Other people think the U.S. government should increase taxes. But nearly everyone thinks the billions of dollars not collected from those who cheat on their taxes should be collected. A new program called the I.R.S. Informant Program has been established to award Informants by paying them 15% to 30% of the tax collected as a result of information provided.
