Sklover’s Thought for the Work Week

Featured Coffee Cup

“Don’t gain the world and lose your soul. Wisdom is better than silver and gold.”

– Bob Marley

Reggae Master Bob Marley, a champion of honest, fair and good treatment of all people, including working people, had it right. His famous song, “Get Up, Stand Up,” aroused both concertgoers and employees, worldwide. His lyrics “Get up, stand up: stand up for your rights! Get up, stand up: don’t give up the fight!” could not have been simpler or more direct in their inspiration of self-help and self-determination. And too – not to be dismissed or forgotten – he had an intensely spiritual inner source for his music and words. Even if you are a fan of classical piano or modern jazz, give this Rasta Man’s music and words some thought this week at work.
