“Hope is patience with the lamp lit.”
I love the simplicity of this quote, as well as its applicability to the workplace. Patience is truly a virtue, and needs to be practiced at work. That’s for sure. But hope, as a virtue, is a step higher: it is practicing patience with a positive attitude, with the flame in your heart, the light in your soul and . . . your “lamp lit.” Hope can only take you higher and higher, with your colleagues coming along for the journey, as well.
