“Keep Calm and Nurse On.”

– Handwritten Sign on an Emergency Room Wall

Nothing in this world amazes me more than the truly unbelievable dedication to others shown daily by our “essential workers,” those whose efforts are essential to all of our well-being and survival at this time. The nurses, doctors, police officers, firefighters, hospital cleaning staff, grocery workers, respiratory therapists, and so, so, so many others. I try, but cannot imagine the burden they undertake – and carry – each and every time they go to work. All I can say is “Thank You,” “We love you,” and “God, please help and bless them all.”

And something else, too: if you are having a hard time emotionally carrying your burden, please don’t go it entirely alone. Talk to others you know with whom you can lay your burden down. And, if you cannot carry that burden, or don’t have someone to talk to, please, please, please consider calling the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1 – 800 – 273 – TALK. That is the same as 1 – 800 – 273 – 8255. These people are legit, professional, without cost, and know what they are doing.

Thank you, again, for who you are. You are amazing, wonderful, appreciated and loved. And don’t you forget it for a moment.
