Recently, our Thoughts for the Work Week have focused on dealing with adversity at work, home and elsewhere. We’re not certain why, but it has been thoughts on overcoming adversities that so many readers have submitted. No doubt it has a lot to do with the multitude and intensity of the great challenges we all face, in the midst of the great uncertainties of our times. It’s not just values, priorities and directions that are in question, but even what is reality, itself. In the midst of such crises and uncertainties, we can only depend on ultimate truths. One is this: faith of every kind, including faith in oneself, faith in lessons learned, and religious faith, are what get you through the “thickest fogs,” the “greatest pains,” and “darkest nights.” That is why this quote jumped off the page and grabbed us: “Faith is the ultimate strength.” It is stirring in its simplicity and powerful in its universal appeal and applicability. Wake up each day, do good things, and have faith, and sooner or later, all works out. It really does; in that I have great faith.
This inspiring quote was sent to us by Gabrielle, of Missoula, Montana, the “Big Sky” state. I’ve been to Montana, and it is true: their sky really is bigger than elsewhere, as is their horizon. Such a beautiful place seems to encourage strong faith. Thank you, Gabrielle.
