At work, now more than ever, we all need to be continually conscious that we are in a pandemic that for a year now has made us all – myself included – a little (or a lot) more cranky. It’s really important to give others a little more “space” when they exhibit heightened sensitivity, unusual impatience or unnecessary reactivity. It’s been a long winter, and a long year, too, without the usual outlets for having fun and diversion, and with the additional burdens we all carry in taking care of loved ones. And, too, don’t forget to give yourself that additional “space,” too. If you are a bit more forgetful, a bit less productive, or just a bit more depressed, let yourself have a bit more “space,” too. Be good to yourself; you deserve it. Your many relations – including your work relations – will be the better for it.
This comical little quote was submitted by two “blog family” members over the last three weeks. That’s the first time in about ten years that has happened. Thanks go out to Francine R. of Tillamook, Oregon and Darren F. of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, for this simple, but oh-so-relevant quote.
