In every aspect of life, education is empowering. In the workplace, it is empowering “on steroids.” It improves the lives of those who learn, their families, and the next generation, too. That’s why we dedicate this blog to educating employees in “the ways of the workplace,” how it all works, and how employees can best “work in and with it.” How they can both receive what they deserve and resolve differences when they do not. It is based in our view that empowered employees, those who are treated with dignity, are more productive. It’s that simple. Why is it that not a single high school, academy, university, trade school or other educational organization even tries to teach their students how to navigate and negotiate for themselves at work? We cannot figure out why not. Human dignity is far too important a subject to leave to be learned by mistakes.
