“Time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time.”

Work hard . . . work fast . . . work smart . . . don’t waste time. Each is often touted as a way to become a more productive person. Recently, though, psychologists and neuroscientists have concluded that “wasting” time can, in fact, actually lead to greater productivity, so long as it serves to recharge your inspirational, analytical, creative, meaningful senses. If it is enjoyable, relaxing and decompressing, it may open you up to different perspectives, with clearer thinking, more positive interaction, and a greater sense of purpose.
Outside, I enjoy walking in woods. Inside, I love to care for my many houseplants. I call it “finding myself as I lose myself.” It’s where my greatest thoughts come to me. Surely not wasted, trust me.
