“We either make ourselves happy or miserable. The amount of work is the same.”

It’s hard to deny the elemental truth of such a simple statement about the human spirit. At work and elsewhere, we all have our moments of disappointment, disillusionment, and even despair. But your “default” frame of mind, that “steady smile” or that “forever frown” in your heart is actually a matter of choice, from the moment you awake to the instant you fall asleep. Look at the bright side. Count your blessings. Go with optimism. Give it a month, or even a week. You’ll see: . . . your optimism will turn itself into a powerful “happiness magnet.”

This quote was submitted by Rhonda and Andrea, two optimistic – and not surprisingly quite successful – businesswomen with whom I recently transacted business. As is often the case, it’s actually fun to do business with “up” people, as these two truly are. Thanks, again, Rhonda and Andrea. You’ve got me as a customer!
