Are you considering a move to a new employer? Does it seem to be a great career opportunity? Keep a keen eye out for the longevity of the team members you’ll be joining. And, too, their seeming morale and enthusiasm “when no one is looking.” Consider asking “So, how is it to work for Bob Jones?” and watch their eyes when they answer. Chances are that the longevity, morale and enthusiasm of your soon-to-be colleagues will be your own, as well, in 6 to 12 months. Leadership requires recognition of the needs of others, and a willingness to address concerns on a regular and proactive basis. There’s no shortcuts to being a true leader, one who builds those around them, and there’s nothing better than working for a manager who is a true leader.
