“I don’t dwell on success. Maybe that’s one reason I’m successful.”

You may have heard of this fellow, Ralph Lauren. He was born Ralph Lifshitz, a child of the Bronx. Son of poor immigrants. Pursued vision, quality, excellence. Now a multi-billionaire. Yet he is seen more often wearing tee shirts than wearing tuxedos. Want a lot for yourself? Focus on the desires and needs of others; that’s the key. I always counsel that, in negotiations and navigations, of every kind, don’t focus on what you want, need or deserve. Instead, focus on what the other side wants; it’s the key to getting what you want. It’s done well for Ralph. It will do well for you. Don’t pursue success; focus on excellence, and success will pursue you.
