“The more you know who you are, and what you want, the less you let things upset you.”

In times of uncertainty, conflict and transition – you know, like today’s times – it is so easy to lose your sense of who you are. Distractions around us – so many things seem not to be working the way they should – make it easy to lose your internal balance. The best way to prevent and, if needed, address, the imbalance around you is to focus as best you can, on your most accessible source of balance within you. That is (i) focusing on who you are – that’s one foot firmly on the ground, (ii) what you seek in life – that’s the other foot firmly on the ground, and (iii) having a degree of confidence in moving forward – what we call “navigating and negotiating” with your world around you. With two feet firmly on the ground, moving ahead confidently, there’s far less that can upset, distract or imbalance you as you move forward, step by step, by step.
We here express our thanks to Johnny S. of Albouystown, Guyana for this little nugget of workplace wisdom. We hope and expect it will serve to provide a measure of additional “balance” to many.
