“It is impossible to feel grateful and depressed at the same time.”

Gratefulness, appreciation, gratitude . . . whatever you call it, it is an experience like no other. When gratitude is within you, it motivates, inspires, guides, lifts and even calms you. Simply put, if you feel you are fortunate, lucky, favored or blessed . . . you are. And we all have so, so many good things in life to celebrate – among them, being alive, having a home, friends and family, enough food to satisfy our hunger and keep us healthy. Count just a few of your many blessings, and any sense of depression just diminishes, if not disappears. Many of us fall asleep at night before we can finish counting our blessings. If you think – for even a moment – that you are blessed, well, you are. And anxiety, fretting and depression just seem, somehow, to go away. Consider this thought, and perhaps share it; it’s surely a gift.
This quote was sent to us by Dee from South Los Angeles, who shares she is “super-blessed” by being a Great Grandma of seven. Sometimes tired, crazy, cranky and exhausted by her little ones . . . but she says she would not have it any other way. Thanks, Great Grandma Dee, for this gift of a gem, and gem of a gift.
