“Anyone can see the adversity in a difficult situation, but it takes a stronger person to see the opportunity.”

When things are amiss, we experience the disorder in our midst, but it is often also a significant opportunity to put them back together, in a different – and better – order.

It is in times of drought that people most often are willing to make the extra effort to seek “untapped” ways to conserve and protect water supplies.

When money is scarce, we are often at our best at finding ingenious ways to save additional pennies and stretch every dollar.

In times of war, people are often more motivated to find some way – creating perhaps a rare but significant opportunity – to achieve a just and lasting peace.

And at work, too, it is in the darker times of a weak economy, even widescale layoffs, that employers pay special attention to those employees who are creative and effective in identifying and reaching out to potential clients and curtailing wasteful habits.

Be one of those people who sees golden opportunities in the midst of difficult circumstances, for the greatest good of all, even if others are preoccupied with their fears of adversity.

This inspirational thought came to us from an old friend in Rechovot, Israel who, despite these currently difficult times, remains dedicated to living with his family in a world of peace. Thank you, Mickey, for sharing this thought.
