Sklover’s Thoughts for the Work Week

Sklover’s Thoughts for the Work Week

“When you begin to carry your own water, you learn the value of every drop.”

– African Proverb

This is so, so true, in all aspects of life, and in work, as well. “Carry your own water” is a way of saying “take care of yourself.” When others are carrying your water for you, the load does not seem heavy, at least not to you. When you begin to carry your own water, and the water for others, too, its weight becomes well known to you, and each drop is appreciated. We each begin to carry our own water at different times in life, and knowing that can make you that much more aware of your, and others’, understanding of the “weight” of things.

This wonderful African proverb was sent to us by Carmel from Merrick, New York. Thanks for “carrying this water” to us, Carmel. Most appreciated.
