Sklover’s Thoughts for the Work Week

Sklover’s Thoughts for the Work Week

“This tiger you don’t drive; this tiger you must ride until it goes to sleep.”

– Infectious Disease Expert

There are some things in life that we just cannot control. Instead, we must accept them in our lives until they give up control. Like a hurricane coming toward us. We can’t control it; all we can do is protect ourselves and those we love until the storm “decides” to pass us by or subside. So, too, it is with the Covid-19 virus: we need to socially distance, wear masks, and wash our hands frequently to “coax it to sleep.” Only then can we “dismount” that “tiger.” Like the tiger, the virus is “in charge” until it decides not to be, until, at the least, we can “coax it to sleep.”

Just the other day I saw my precious son for the first time in four months. We did an “air hug” and wore masks. And we shed tears. Why? Because we love each other so much, and the virus is still “in charge,” for the moment.
