When considering a Job Move, chances are high that you will need to know what is in all of the work-related agreements you have signed. These include (a) offer letter, (b) employment agreement, (c) bonus or commissions agreement, (d) stock and stock option plans, (e) “garden leave” agreement, and (f) reimbursement for education loans or relocation expenses, even (g) non-compete agreements. You may need to know when your bonus is payable, when your stock vests and how much notice you must give when resigning.
If so, chances are high that you will not be able to find them in your computer, but are reluctant to ask HR for a copy, concerned that your Manager may find out.
This Model Memo shows you how to make that request, and provides both (1) good reasons for the request, and also (2) good reasons why the request must be held in confidence by HR.
Like all of our Model Memos and Model Letters, this Model Memo shows you “What to Say, and How to Say It.”™
